art + society: polyphonic arrangements
This year, DARE-DARE wants to - while inverting the poles - act in synergy with the programming of the last two years, which has been dedicated to practices exploring daily life and encounters.
DARE-DARE would like to invite artists to take action and touch on complacent consensus with grounded and sharp proposals. We seek to support critical approaches to public space, prospective models that explore alternative lifestyles, and "polyphonic arrangements that offer alternatives" to nowness, economism, and precariousness.
We know their tactic: TO PROMISE AND RUIN
- RESIST MOVEMENT
- REFUSE TO MOVE FORWARD AT ANY COST
- LOOK AROUND -INSTEAD OF FORWARD
Friction: apply resistance between two entities or two temporalities - one dominant, the other alternative – which, after a period of friction and dissent, ends up producing heat.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||DARE-DARE is offering :- an honorarium- author's rights- reimbursement of project materials- project promotion and organization- to secure the necessary authorizations and permits.

URBAN WRITING RESIDENCY
DARE-DARE forges ahead with its urban poetry/writing project. Borrowing from short form sentence structure such as slogans, haikus or tweets, these short phrases, aphorisms, poems or questions are showcased for a week's time on an illuminated sign. The texts are visible, day and night, for the thousands of passers-by that transit through the area surrounding the artist-run centre's mobile trailer.
We keep the new formula and would like to offer this part of the program to two authors, they both will spend a short residence at the center to find their inspiration and create their 24 written formulae. These 48 proposals will constitute the set of the ongoing programming. For each of the authors, the residence will have to stretch in two stays of two weeks, spread on two seasons.
Send your proposals before January 4th, 2018 to email@example.com
