Véronique Leblanc

Véronique Leblanc is an independent curator, author and lecturer in art history at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her current research focuses on the imaginary of the common in contemporary art through a range of artistic practices that combine collaborative and performative approaches with documentary strategies. Her most recent exhibitions include: Cultiver l'humilité | M8agen piwihozw8gan, organized as part of the ORANGE triennial with Elise Anne LaPlante (Expression et Jardin Daniel A. Séguin, Saint-Hyacinthe, 2022), Franchissements (Galerie UQO, Gatineau, 2021) and Chto Delat? Performative practices of our time (Vox, 2018). Since 2023, in partnership with Elise Anne LaPlante, she has been co-director of the Association des groupes en arts visuels francophones (AGAVF).

A member of DARE-DARE's Board and of the Critical Space Committee since 2018, Véronique helped create the Fabuler l'école project and implement events such as Femmes-friction and Cercles de lecture gourmands. Through her involvement with DARE-DARE, she is interested in the ways in which art reaches out to community or activist practices, and to different forms of experimental pedagogies, in order to cultivate relationships with the land and with living and non-living beings. She has served as the center's president since 2021.
