As part of a two-day micro-residency at La HALTE de DARE-DARE, Jad Orphée Charmi is offering a workshop exploring the memory of a place and the objects that embody it, as well as a storytelling evening.

Shortly before the pandemic, a small group of Montreal artists were given access to a vacant apartment in a century-old building. They spent time there alone, and later in pairs. Unforgettable conversations emerged—among themselves, but also with the singular space they inhabited.

This summer, DARE-DARE invites you to experience a research blitz in the public space. The micro-residencies aim to question and (re)animate our relationship to reading, archives and exchange.

This residency program runs continuously for 8 weeks. DARE-DARE seeks to foster a deeper, close-knit relationship between a professional artist (who does not reside in the metropolitan area) and the Saint-Henri and Petite-Bourgogne neighbourhoods, and provides dedicated support throughout the residency.

In July, Maxence Croteau was in micro-residency at La HALTE to draw inspiration from DARE-DARE's art book collection.

For the fourth edition of the CONFLUENCES residency, DARE-DARE welcomes Caroline Loncol Daigneault for an eight-week period. Her project, titled Maman, papa et les masques de l’avant-nuit, is developed in collaboration with the Alzheimer Society Montreal.

From July 18 to 20, the artist was in micro-residence at La HALTE. She collected quotes on exhaustion and collective ways of dealing with it.

For the third edition of the CONFLUENCES residency, DARE-DARE welcomes Roberto Santaguida for 8 weeks. His "no date" project, which revolves around the hidden histories of the South-West, is being developed in collaboration with a literacy group and an elementary school class.
