Programming

The work is a monumental ephemeral installation in the tradition of land art. Through this strong and unequivocal artistic gesture, he creates a direct link with the invasive problem of the emerald ash borer.

DARE-DARE is proud to participate in the FAIR OF ALTERNATIVE ART IN SUDBURY (FAAS), where more than 30 artists occupy and transform a public space in the downtown core of the nickel capital.

This monumental project by visual artist Dominique Pétrin consists of covering the exterior surface of the Katacombes building with printed and cut paper. This ephemeral installation is made from original silkscreen prints designed by the artist.

Ross Campbell offers us an eight foot tall plywood replica of a concrete water connector. This connector was in Place des Arts during the winter 2011 renovations, where he photographed and documented it, before it was buried and connected to the City's sewer system.

I want to know the movements of my fellow citizens; to see where their routes intersect; to make them feel how, by tracing their comings and goings on a map, one can project oneself into the territory and become aware of the way one perceives and understands it; to show that by emerging, this drawing can bring a better understanding of the city and its occupants.

To start its 26th birthday with a bang, DARE-DARE is programming an ambitious project entitled SATELLITE. DARE-DARE will travel to Detroit and Tijuana for three-week “artist-organization-in-residencies” in each city.

This action consists of displaying anagrams of the word revolution, created with the help of an experimental manicure.

The project will peak by the realization of a collective mural on the outer surfaces of DARE-DARE’s trailer office.

The action of drawing brings new ideas, forges connections. To take a piece of chalk and draw designs on the cement is to make the decision to live in the moment, to be open and available to the contingencies of the terrain, weather and people around us.
