Programming

In order to carry out our artistic programming, which will run from April 1st, 2019 to March 31, 2020, DARE-DARE is proposing this year a mode of action by pairing creators rather than the traditional call for projects.

The Montreal multidisciplinary art dissemination center DARE-DARE is re-offending for a fifth edition with PASSPORT DARE-DARE. The public is invited to take part in this art walk activity!

This series of presentations allows for reflection and debate with artists on various issues related to artistic intervention practices in the public space.

DARE-DARE is happy to invite the public to its garage-sale fundraiser. Come and get some little treasures and find artworks mixed among the objects of this great bazaar!

SATELLITE allows us to outreach new public beyond the territory of Montreal presenting critical and daring artistic practices.

The publication "DARE-DARE ODYSSÉE (2004-2014)" is the witness of an eponymous day of festivities and presents the result of a research conducted by Manon Tourigny to trace the history and challenges experienced by the Center during the first decade of the project DIS/LOCATION : Urban articulation.

As part of VIVA! Art Action, DARE-DARE presents the works of Marina Barsy Janer & Isil Sol Vil as well as Roberto de la Torre.

DARE-DARE organised a festive PARADE in Petite-Bourgogne and St-Henri neighborhoods. With or without costume, the public was invited to wander and celebrate the cityscape with family and friends.

Les PETITES VITES de DARE-DARE, initiated and organized by our Critical Space Committee, consist of a series of flash presentations within a strict protocol: the speakers have exactly 7 minutes and a visual support of 5 images to make their presentation.

This project is the result of a long reflection on the relationship between repetition, experience and language. It is a performance realized by a group of performers who carry out several distinct actions in the public space.

For five years, twenty-nine artists have been inspired by the socio-environmental context to offer aphorisms, poems and sentences that take the short form of slogan, haiku or tweet.

From one word and its definition, Marion Lessard forms the poetical anagram of another word and its definition, which then take the place of the official ones, and so on, indefinitely, in a long chain of subversion.

This moment of collective reflection is the perfect opportunity to examine our mandate in order to clarify its specificity, its objectives and, where appropriate, to review / refine / formulate new and relevant lines of research.

To discuss the practice of the artists in the 2016-2017 program, we have invited philosopher Erik Bordeleau to act as a moderator and theorist of the issues encountered during the past year.

Presented as part of the Journées de la culture, this cultural activity consists of an artistic tour during which participants are invited to collect works / prints by artists selected by DARE-DARE.

A gentle immersion into the world of lullabies, BERCER LE TEMPS invites to travel aboard a rocking chair. Set up in the heart of the city, the installation welcomes visitors in a suspended time-space outside of the surrounding urban bustle. Feet on the grass, swinging along, everyone can get carried away by the echoes of childhood through songs from all over the world.
