In the course of an evening on Friday, September 29th, and an afternoon on Saturday, September 30th, at the park with no name, DARE-DARE will be the host of performance art presentations as well as related interdisciplinary art forms of today.

2nd edition of the DARE-DARE Gala! Benefit party for the activities of DARE-DARE which brings together about thirty artists during a festive evening where performances, videos and musical performances are presented.

DARE-DARE, with its store, sells multiple, mass-produced art objects. The profits will go to found the center activities.

A look back at two recent events undertaken by DARE-DARE: L'algèbre d'Ariane (2000, with Les Brasseurs Art Contemporain, Liège) and Mémoire vive (2002, with the Centre d'histoire de Montréal).

The academic community and the general public often debate the criteria for recognition of literary work. The importance given to a book reflects the values of a society. The Five Important Books project takes these issues out of the realm of normative discourse and places them in the hands of readers who still appreciate a good book.

Interstices is a research group formed by artists exploring the aesthetic and poetic scope of human-computer interfaces in media arts.

Come and play at the DARE-DARE Benefit Bingo at the Centre de loisirs communautaires Lajeunesse. Louise Dubreuil will host the evening to the lively beat of 50s music. Lots and lots of prizes to be won!

The exhibition Face B brings together musician Martin Tétreault and installation artist Jean-Pierre Gauthier. Each presents a little-known aspect of his production: Tétreault exposes the results of a year of daily interventions in a 365-page art history book and Gauthier introduces us to his research in experimental music.

Fifteen members of DARE-DARE were invited to participate in Folie/Culture No. 7, a project created by curators Johanne Huot and Denis Simard.

The position of the viewer in the work is an important and current topic that Karen Spencer addresses using the strategy of duality: on the one hand, a personalized encounter around a very simple action in the room and on the other hand, the inscription of her personal and intimate life in the more formal context of the gallery.

Geneviève Crépeau (eight months pregnant!), accompanied by her two acolytes, sang about the ups and downs of the artist's life.

This event follows the success of the evening of performance "Parlez-moi d'Amour!" presented at DARE-DARE the previous year.

While in Quebec, DARE-DARE invited Belgian artist/theorist/educator Jean-François Pirson to share his poetic reflections on the relationship of the body to "the architecture of the everyday".
