Call for proposals

Context

DARE-DARE's programming is composed of four segments which are activated based on the themes and forms determined each year by the programming and critical space committees.

SEGMENT 1 : INTERVENTIONS IN PUBLIC SPACE

Each year, DARE-DARE invites artists to submit proposals for projects to be realized in public spaces surrounding the centre, or projects questioning the so-called "public" space. Depending on the year, these projects can take the form of installations, performances, manoeuvres, infiltration scenarios, encounters, documentary films, etc.

SEGMENT 2 : CRITICAL THINKING

For the duration of one year, an invited researcher will develop a reflection and analysis embracing DARE-DARE's overall annual programming, concluding with a public presentation and the printing of a booklet or other form, such as a series of interviews, texts, videos, etc.

SEGMENT 3 : PUBLIC WRITING

Borrowing the brief form of a slogan, haiku, tweet, phrase, aphorism, poem or question, this series of twelve short-form texts are broadcast for one week each on an outdoor illuminated sign. For four selected artists every year, their texts are made visible, day and night, to the thousands of passers-by who encounter the HALTE, DARE-DARE's mediation documentation center in the Parc Sainte-Cunégonde.

SEGMENT 4 : SPECIAL

Some special projects require specific calls. Whether recurring or not, these can be collective events, such as the PASSEPORT project, or individual opportunities, such as the CONFLUENCES residency or our micro-residencies at the HALTE.

    Call for proposals 2024
This summer, DARE-DARE invites you to experience a research blitz in the public space. The micro-residencies aim to question and (re)animate our relationship to reading, archives and exchange.
