The "aqua-planets" that Agnès Dumouchel exhibits at DARE-DARE announce an astonishing inventiveness. Her artistic approach, almost playful, takes the viewer on a journey through dimensions ranging from the smallest to the largest.
My aquariums are built using a variety of materials: ceramics, which form the shell of the piece and also the inner body of the aquarium, metal, glass and rubber. These sculptures/aquariums are inhabited by real fish that swim pleasantly at the center of these mini-planets. The functional aspect of my pieces is paramount: it's important to me that the fish can live in the environment I create for them. Animated sculptures in both the biological and artistic sense. In this way, the life of the fish, their movements, become almost a leitmotif in the creation of these aqua-planets (the driving force).
