The invited artists Adam Bergeron (Québec) andkaren elaine spencer (Montréal), have accepted the challenge of being shut up and alienated during the three-day event on the esplanade of the Saint-Laurent metro station.

Are we all alienated? Or, at least, are we all, individually, alienated from someone? Is our relationship with information technology both alienating and enriching? Are some forms of alienation more acceptable than others? If so, does this social acceptability make our alienation, which is sometimes voluntary and sometimes imposed, more comfortable? WithBloggers in Captivity Folie/Culture intends to take the pulse of a certain globalized and mediatised madness.

Two artists in residence, captives in an impermeable and completely transparent bubble, will take up the challenge of isolating themselves to better align with the world. Folie/Culture joins the Montreal-based multidisciplinary art centre DARE-DARE to present the intervention Bloggers in Captivity!
