The Boolean operation *
Since 1994, Cyrille Mariën (Lorient, France) has been exhibiting Objects-Supports on which other artistic practices or experiments can be grafted. With multiple vocations, these structures are ambulant, dismountable, with variable geometries. They can be inhabited, moved, adapted to the place that hosts it or contradict it. At DARE-DARE, he presents "ONE", a generic term that globally defines the idea of uniqueness and multiplicity. The artist enters into a relationship with the public ("the activators") through a "catalyst" (an inflatable structure receiving their dedications), an incentive sentence and a website (www.psoque.net). The traces of this reaction can take many forms: photos, drawings, texts, e-mails, etc... All images sent by e-mail are exposed to DARE-DARE.
* The Boolean operation is a procedure (union, subtraction and intersection) to create composite solids from existing solids.
