As part of her micro-residency at HALTE, researcher Camille Richard focused on defining the concept of instituting institution; a cultural institution conceived as a praxis where the power of knowledge resides in its collectivity and accessibility. In an attempt to link theory to practice, DARE-DARE was her case study, and more specifically she analyzed the DIS/LOCATION project to reflect on an alternative space to the university where knowledge is created.
At the DARE-DARE, institution instituante? workshop, she wants to reflect as a group on our relationship between space (institutional, natural and intimate), (non-)human bodies and the production of knowledge. Through a series of readings and the sharing of ideas and questions, the workshop aims to create a space for imagining utopian or real places in which we can freely and creatively develop our thoughts together.
The workshop lasts approximately two hours.
No previous experience is necessary.
Exchanges will take place in French.

Camille Richard
Camille Richard is an independent writer and researcher who divides her time between Tiohtià:ke/Montreal and Wolastokuk/Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. Her research focuses on conceptual and contextual artistic, curatorial and institutional practices that redefine exhibition parameters and develop alternative methodologies for the production and transmission of knowledge. Holder of a master's degree in art history from the Université du Québec à Montréal, her most recent curatorial projects include Nos corps ont leurs raisons qu'il nous faut comprendre (Galerie de l'Université de Montréal, 2021), Champ liminal (Espace parenthèses, Manif d'art 10, 2022), and Fragments (Musée d'art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, 2022). Since 2021, she has been general and artistic director of Est-Nord-Est.
