Jacinthe Tétrault, Charlotte Fauteux, Nicolas Pitre

Taille douce

Small etchings: the images are compact and complete, intimate and unexpected.

Jacinthe Tétrault, Charlotte Fauteux and Nicolas Pitre engrave copper on small formats. Compact and complete images placed on the wall. Intimate, unexpected. Our gaze catches on it almost as we pass by. The acid scratched a black hole. The etching and the drypoint; the lines are fine or brutal. Our fingernails would like to insert themselves and our fingers to rub them to read this braille. A trick of hollows, contrast and then greyness. The sensation of a warm, smooth hue. The perfect velvet of paper.

- François Vincent, guest conservator
