DARE-DARE presents Jean Lareau's prints on fabric and canvas.
"The essence of my approach is to use canvas as a cotton fabric to support the painting. Canvas can be cut, sewn, assembled...
For me, the world of textiles and the world of painting merge, and I wander from one to the other. I use textiles for my search for motif and my taste for flatness. Painting allows me to express both motif and relief. These two techniques enable me to express sensations and emotions. My primary aim is to excite the eye. The result is images that are sometimes figurative, sometimes abstract. The images and techniques change as I experiment. I hope it stays that way for a long time." Jean Lareau
