John Drew Munro graduated from Concordia University in 1981 with a BFA in painting and sculpture. In 1984, he held a solo exhibition at the Maison de la culture Louis-Hippolyte-LaFontaine. Then, in September 1985 at the Oboro Gallery, Verte Terrum. In 1988, at the Maison de la culture Marie Uguay, L'énergie encadrée/Containing Energies. In 1989, at Galerie Eclart, Picturalité et Petits Objets. He has also participated in several group exhibitions since 1986, including one in 1987 at the Grand Palais in Paris as part of the 38th Salon de la Jeune peinture.
