Many of the scenes of nature depicted in Marie-Suzanne Gay's paintings are removed from the frame by a space, a margin that transforms the representation of landscape into the representation of a surface to be painted. Illusion of landscape. The painter's gesture. White masses streaked with black in the landscapes reveal the abstract nature of the paintings. A climb that leads into inverted landscapes, where points of view shift.


Marie-Suzanne Gay has had solo exhibitions at the Espace Virtuel gallery in Chicoutimi and the Alliance gallery in Montreal. She has taken part in several group exhibitions: Chroma-Québec in Ontario and Pluralité in Québec, and two Salons de la Jeune Peinture in Paris. She also took part in the Symposium de la Jeune Peinture du Canada in Baie St-Paul. Marie-Suzanne Gay was director of Galerie de l'Arche in Jonquière. She has been an animator at Galerie Alliance and coordinator of the Conseil de la gravure du Québec. Through these activities, she has been involved in various fields of action in the visual arts milieu.
