Deuxième temps : rotatif
It is an investigation around the movements of the camera and the monitor. More precisely, a device where the movement of the monitor cancels the movement made by the camera at the time of the shooting.
photo : Guy L'HeureuxIt is an investigation around the movements of the camera and the monitor. More precisely, a device where the movement of the monitor cancels the movement made by the camera at the time of the shooting. Metaphorically, in this piece, two techniques meet: one mechanical (motor and electricity), the other more technological (media, video). The visitor can interrupt the rotary movement of a monitor on a pivot that rotates continuously at 5.76 rpm by pressing a pedal. The image includes an aerial view of a hand making a circular drawing. Five drawings will be displayed in the gallery.
Martin Boisseau lives and works in Montreal. From July to November 1997, he had a correspondence with Nycole Paquin about his work, which was published in the spring 1998 issue of the magazine Espace.
