Sculptures

Nathalie Ducharme presents ceramic sculptures inspired mainly by architecture.

Nathalie Ducharme presents ceramic sculptures inspired mainly by architecture. The artist brings back from her travels human figures, caryatids, totems, transvestite bridges and speaks to us of the eternal struggle between the organic world and the mechanical infrastructure. Here, the use of ceramics becomes light, airy lace and evokes the poetry of cities crossed and then secretly kept in memory.

Nathalie Ducharme obtained her bachelor's degree from UQAM in 1986. She also completed a foundry training course at the École des Métiers de l'Est. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, most recently: "Expo-Foire nationale et internationale" de Montréal, "Symphonie en IV temps" Montréal, "La 4e biennale nationale de céramique 1990" Trois-Rivières. In 1985, she took part in the Symposium de la Jeune peinture canadienne in Baie Saint-Paul. In 1982-83, she produced two public works for Saudi Arabia. Her works are included in public collections such as the Canadian Art Bank and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She was awarded a technical resources grant in 1988 and 1991.
