When everything seems to be burning, what does poetry reveal? There, at the center of the fire, a desire may have remained intact.
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of DARE-DARE and the 50th anniversary of La Centrale galerie Powerhouse, the two artist-run centers come together to reinterpret their former collaborative project “Les après-midi littéraires”. This series of feminist readings, held between 1992 and 1994, featured the writings of several leading poets of Quebec literature. This evening is an opportunity to meet them again, this time accompanied by emerging poets who are already making their mark with their writing.
With microphone in hand, you'll find: Sayaka Araniva-Yanez, Juliette Langevin, Mimi Haddam, Alegria Gobeil, Dada, Nicole Brossard, Carole David, Martine Audet, Louise Dupré and Nadine Ltaif. Unruly and bewitching readings will be delivered until the night takes over the bodies. It's a spellbinding experience. An ascent into the depths of words. An ephemeral marriage between poetry and the visual arts, between generations of poets. A breach between self and other.
