As part of its Satellite project, Dare-Dare warmly invites you to the Orbit/Detroit evening event at the Bain Mathieu, Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6:00 p.m.

As a flagship project, SATELLITE will export Dare-Dare’s expertise and apply its mandate on an international scale. The project aims to exhibit new public art, organize conferences and further modes of artistic presentation in Tijuana (Mexico) and Detroit (USA), the two cities chosen for this adventure. The city of Detroit stands out as an emblem of urban decline. The extent of the devastation there requires us to reflect upon the historical mechanisms that have governed its creation and destruction. Despite the city’s failure and its effect on the population, inhabitants are taking part in a multitude of actions, events and community-based initiatives on the vacant lands which were once the theatre of mass production and consumerism. The Centre will continue its itinerary and be in Tijuana from October 20 to November 15. There it will collaborate with other organizations working in zones that are particularly sensitive to the need for a (re-)definition of public space.
