Sculptures

To tend to the nothingness, to sharpen the threat to reach its own interiority; the sculptures of pierre hamelin sharpen these aims, make them multiple.

Tending to nothingness, sharpening the threat to reach one's own interiority; the Hamelin stone sculptures sharpen these aims, making them multiple. The sinuous forms come up against the rigid structures, nothing is resolved, the stains are preserved as many inscriptions, traces before the loss.

Born in 1955, pierre hamelin lives and works in Quebec City. Self-taught, he has been working for several years in the field of visual arts, particularly at Oeil de Poisson and at Engramme. He has had several solo exhibitions in artist-run centers, and is also exploring several other practices, notably music and poetry.
