Amber Berson
Queen's University’s doctoral candidate Amber Berson is a writer, curator, and researcher whose doctoral work focuses on the culture of feminist artist-run centres and utopian thought. Her research explores utopian feminist movements and socialist imaginaries, both in their historical origins and contemporary legacies, engaging with issues such as collective self-management, self-determination, childcare, pay equity, and anti-racist practices. She recently curated Trailmix (2014); ** ~ _: * JENNIFER JENNIFER X :. ~ (2013); La course annuelle des administrateur-rice-s des arts (2013); and The Wild Bush Residency (2012–). She is a member of the editorial committee of .dpi, a feminist journal of art and digital culture, and recently organized the Montréal edition of the Art + Feminism Wikipedia project. Her writing has been published in Canadian Art, Esse, Fuse Magazine, C Magazine, and the St Andrews Journal of History and Museum Studies.
