Ange Houtin

Originally from France, Ange Houtin has lived and worked in Montreal/TiohTià:ke/Mooniyang for over twenty-five years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts and is currently completing a master’s degree in the same program at the Université du Québec à Montréal. By exploring various social and political issues, as well as processes rooted in a culture of scheming, theft, fraud, and cheating, he develops sculptural and relational installations imbued with humor and self-deprecation. Sharing this knowledge is at the heart of my practice. I firmly believe that these various fraudulent methods can create moments of respite in our daily lives and, at the very least, undermine the various forms of constraints associated with our living conditions.
