Céline Huyghebaert

Céline Huyghebaert

Céline Huyghebaert is a Franco-Quebecois artist whose practice lies at the intersection of literature and visual arts. Her projects take the form of installations, books, and collaborative workshops. Through them, she develops extensive investigations in which she explores the connections between language, memory, the body, and illness. The book, as a space for collective empowerment, plays a central role in her practice. She has published nos suppressions (Artexte, 2024), de tous nos corps (Turbine, 2021), Le drap blanc (Le Quartanier, 2019), as well as numerous zines. Her publications have earned her several major awards, including the Bronfman Fellowship in Contemporary Art (2019), the Governor General’s Literary Award (2019), the CALQ Artist in the Community Award (2023), and the Alcuyn Award for Excellence in Book Design (2023). Her work has also been supported by various exhibition venues and artist-in-residence programs in Canada and Europe. In 2025, she was in residence at the CALQ Studio in Rome, where she continued her research on chronic illnesses, their narratives, and their invisible forms.

At DARE-DARE, Céline Huyghebaert is the project and special events coordinator for the 2026–2027 season.
