Chedly Boughedir

Chedly Boughedir

Chedly Boughedir is an artist-researcher originally from Tunisia and currently based in Montreal. His work focuses on exploring the interactions between comics, glitch and digital tools. He received his bachelor's degree in product design in 2016 and his master's degree in research in 2021, both from the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Tunis. Subsequently, Chedly created the installation Glitchy Moon, which was first shown in Tokyo in 2023 at “Gesai 22”, making him the first artist from North Africa to participate in this contemporary art event. The work was then exhibited in Tunis in 2023 at the TGM Gallery, and in Toronto in 2024 at the Fragmentation colloquium at the University of Toronto.

As part of his doctorate in research-creation at the Université de Montréal, which began in January 2024, Chedly theorizes and works on the concept of “Glitch Comics”. His thinking and practice are rooted in the currents of intermediality and post-digital comics.
