Érik Bordeleau

Érik Bordeleau

Érik Bordeleau is a researcher at the SenseLab (Concordia University). He is the author of Foucault anonymat (Le Quartanier, 2012, recipient of the 2013 Spirale Eva-Legrand Prize) and Comment sauver le commun du communisme? (Le Quartanier, 2014). His work lies primarily at the intersection of political philosophy and the arts, with a strong interest in the speculative turn and the renewed exploration of the question of the possible in contemporary thought.

He has published numerous articles in Québec and international art and film journals and is a regular contributor to Spirale. As part of the Commonist Aesthetics project (conducted by the Casco cultural centre and the online journal Open!), he recently published Who You Are Is But a Manner of War: Enunciatory Notes on To Our Friends as well as Abstracting the Commons? (www.openonline.org). He is the co-editor of a book titled Nocturnal Fabulations: Ecology, Vitality and Opacity in the Cinema of Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Open Humanities Press), and another on the German thinker Peter Sloterdijk, forthcoming from Dehors; the same press will also publish his translation of Brian Massumi’s What Animals Teach Us About Politics. He is a member of the collective Entrepreneurs du commun.
