Lucas Ferguson-Sharp

Lucas Ferguson-Sharp is an artist, researcher, curator, and filmmaker. Most recently, Lucas finished his PhD thesis in Art History at Northumbria University in 2024. Currently Lucas is working on experimental and documentary filmmaking in his art practice, with three video based projects currently in development The Linen Man, exploring the history of linen in Québec and current efforts to revitalise the industry in the region; Wow, a film being made in collaboration with Amorn Bunsri exploring kite culture in eastern Thailand; and All Will be Equalized, an experimental film being made in partnership with Leo Morales exploring cross cultural solidarity in anti-colonial and anti-imperial struggles. Lucas has extensive experience working and volunteering at artist-run spaces in the UK, most prominently at The Pipe Factory in Glasgow (2016-2017) and the Newbridge Project in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (2017-2020). Lucas also holds a BFA in Environmental Art from the Glasgow School of Art (2015) and a DEC in Fine Arts from Dawson College (2012).
