Mirna Abiad-Boyadjian

Mirna Abiad-Boyadjian completed studies in creative writing, art history, and screenwriting at UQAM, where she earned a Master’s degree in Art History. In 2016, she began a doctoral thesis in aesthetics at Université Paris 8 Vincennes–Saint-Denis on hope in times of war in contemporary art from Lebanon and its diaspora, which she did not complete. Recognizing the need for an experimental and literary dimension in her project—one that proved difficult to articulate through the practice of art history—she chose instead to pursue a PhD in Studies and Practices of the Arts at UQAM. She currently teaches as a sessional lecturer at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and is co-editing an issue of Le Merle, a journal devoted to words and gestures.
