Sonia Martineau

Sonia Martineau, born somewhere on the planet, adopted Quebec at the venerable age of seven months. An undisciplined autodidact and fan of hybridization, she was possessed by a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a major in photography from Concordia University, followed by a master's degree in visual and media arts from UQAM. Fascinated by new means of dissemination, her works have traveled the streets, the web, the forest (somewhere...), an airport, and her kitchen. An artist without a fixed discipline and a tinkerer at heart, she has participated in several individual and collective events and has received grants and awards. She has harnessed the power of creativity by combining it with education as an arts facilitator working with young people who have dropped out or are returning to school for five years. With extensive management experience in community committees, she has also worked in community and social development and consultation. She became the administrative director of DARE-DARE in September 2025.
