Valérie Gariépy

Valérie Gariépy's artistic journey began with studies in graphic design, which she completed in 2002. Influenced by her humanitarian values and social convictions, she developed her career as a graphic designer by supporting non-profit organizations and marginalized members of Montreal's social circus community. In 2025, she completed her second bachelor's degree at UQAM, this time in visual and media arts. In line with her design projects, her multidisciplinary artistic practice also developed through a process of assemblage and collage driven by somatic creation. Deeply interested in the human body and the links between psychological disorders and the organization of societies over time, she questions people's motivations and capacity to heal, and the long-term impact that these individual changes could have on society as a whole.
